WHAT IS IT
A polyvinyl plastic disk with a single, spiraling groove on both sides. A needle runs through the groove from the outside of the record to the center, producing analog (non digital) sounds.

FIRST POP RECORD RELEASE
Frank Sinatra's The Voice of Frank Sinatra released on June 28, 1948 a reissue of a 1946 recording.
WHILE THE VENYL RECORD WAS THE STANDARD, IT BEGAN TO GIVE WAY TO SMALLER, MORE PORTABLE ALTERNATIVES.
MID 1970’S EARLY 1990S
The technological advances that first made music portable also led to the start of vinyl's decline in the mid-'70s. Popularity was directly tied to the production of the portable Sony Walkman in 1979.

Today there is a growing "cassette culture marked by more than 100 cassette. only record labels being launched in the past few years. Despite this, only 22.000 new cassettes albums were sold in 2011.
MID 1980’S EARLY 2000S
When the compact disc become the standard format,it rendered the vinyl record obsolete.
