- Word of mouth and advertising ranked ahead of social media for most small businesses: Word of Mouth - 79%; Advertising - 44%; Social Media - 35%.
- IT/media services and business services were twice as likely to use social media as auto repair shops: IT/media services - 42%; Business Services - 31%; Auto Shops - 18%.
- Twenty-three percent of small businesses would use social media, but aren't sure how, or don't have time: 25% actively use social media for business; 7% would like to use it but don't have the time; 16% would like to
learn how to use social media.
- Thirty-three percent of small businesses don't think social media is useful for their businesses: 14% don't know if social media is useful for promoting their business; 19% don't believe social media is useful for promoting
their business; 10% don't understand social media enough to have an option.
